In case you’ve started to notice, I don’t really switch up my holiday décor very much. I guess it’s because I love all of my stuff so much that I don’t mind re-using the same things year to year (well that and I’m kind of cheap…)
I still move stuff around differently from one year to the next, and even though I say it every year–this set up is by far my favorite! I’ll honestly be surprised if I change anything next year. Of course I say that now…
So come on in and let’s get started 🙂
I upgraded our skinny entry table to this one earlier this year and am loving all of the extra room I have to work with.
The adorable little chalkboards on the banister were made by dry brushing a few ornament frames from Hobby Lobby and painting the backs with chalkboard paint.
Last week I shared how I embroidered the stockings that hang from our mantle and you can read that tutorial here.
These picture frame stocking holders are one of my greatest after-Christmas clearance finds ever. The kids absolutely love having their picture above their stocking.
Not too much has changed in the living room this year, even the pillows are the same as last year’s. However I did allow myself one small splurge on this rustic reindeer one!!
At the corner of our living room sits our newly flocked Christmas Tree! Tutorial on my DIY flocking experience can be found here.
This is the first year that Tristan really understands presents and asks to open them at least several times a day. Hopefully these can actually stay wrapped until Christmas….
Next to the tree I added this sled and driftwood tree which seem to pair together perfectly for the perfect winter wonderland feel.
I dressed up our dining room table with a pretty red grain sack runner and a simple centerpiece that consists of various sized mason jars, candles, greenery and pinecones.
Up until last Friday when our garage door broke (boooo….) the mudroom area functioned as our main entry to and from the house. So of course I like to add a little bit of Christmas cheer in this area too! And since we took off the basement door and installed board and batten on the staircase, this area feels so much more open.
My DIY Christmas Tree Art is still proudly hung in it’s normal spot.
Our basement is coming along pretty nicely and we’ve been spending a lot of time down there watching TV every night so I added this small tree in the sitting area. Isn’t it the cutest??
Okay I have to bring this up! I was looking back at the previous years’ Christmas home tours and was giggling out loud at how much my opinion of “what looks good” has changed. This is what our tree looked like just two short years ago.
When I first saw this I thought to myself–what is it missing?? And then I realized that the only thing I have changed since then is added burlap, snow flock and a few ornaments . Pretty crazy how far it has come with just those few things, right?
