Christmas Tree Blog Hop–Rustic Santa Theme Tree

December 3, 2018

Hello everyone–I’m so happy that you could stop by today!  I’ve been keeping myself extra busy this past week decorating for Christmas. For the very first year we actually have two big trees set up, one in the front room and one in the living room.  I put our woodland themed tree in the front room since it’s considered my “pretty space” and for the living room which is our main hangout spot I put together a fun rustic Santa themed one!

I can’t wait to show you how it turned out so without further ado…

Welcome To The 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Decor Blog Hop!!

We have 23 talented bloggers joining up to share their decorated Christmas Trees with us!  So grab a cup of your favorite beverage and get comfortable, because you are going to love the beautiful Christmas Tree Decor shared over the next two days.

It didn’t take me long to decide on the theme for this tree.  I wanted it to be something fun for the kids and one of their favorite parts about Christmas time is getting excited about Santa’s visit.  So I knew that they would be absolutely thrilled to help me set up a Santa tree!

At first I thought about going out and buying a bunch of Santa ornaments.  But that sounded awfully expensive and I didn’t want it to be too cheesy or mix matched.  So I just purchased a few budget friendly items and alas, our Santa tree was created!

I started with the garland.  I got some thick burlap ribbon and tied red ticking ribbon and rusty jingle bells on to create a rustic North pole vibe.

Next I added some various large pieces that I found.  The first item that I found was this sign from Homegoods that has a phrase from the boys’ favorite Christmas song, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

I snuck in this cool rustic wooden sleigh.  It’s a little heavy but with some finagling with the branches I finally got it secure.

The large wooden ornament sign was a $5 score from Walmart.

The Santa toy sack was found at Michaels for $2.  I stuffed a plastic bag inside to make it look like it’s filled with goodies.

The “Jingle Bell Drive” sign was found at Hobby Lobby and it’s heavy so I stapled some twine to the back to attach it to the branches.

The “Ho Ho Ho” letters were also from Hobby Lobby.  I took the price tags off but left the plastic hangers to hang them to the branches.  I almost didn’t add them in because I thought they may be overkill, but I’m so glad that I did because I feel like they really make the whole tree!

I found the white wooden star for only $5 at target and the “Believe” sign was an awesome Dollar Spot find for only $3.

Once all of the big statement pieces were on I moved on to the smaller details.  I purchased a package of wooden reindeer on Amazon and used my trusty image transfer method (that you can read about here) to add each reindeer’s name, with Rudolph being at the top of course.

I added a few jumbo rustic jingle bells that I picked up at Hobby Lobby along with some white and red ornaments.

I bought the Santa mailbox online originally thinking that it would be small enough to fit on the tree.  When I saw how big it was in person I quickly realized that surely wasn’t going to happen!  So I found it’s home at the bottom and looks quite happy there.  The door actually opens and the boys love putting things inside.

I cut holes in a few ping pong balls and popped them on several of the lights to add a fun whimsical feel.  They look especially magical when it’s dark!

I am soooo thrilled with how this tree came together and had a blast putting it together with my little guys.

Now letโ€™s check out the rest of the beautiful Christmas Trees!
