Hello hello! You guys, I cannot believe that Christmas is only two weeks from today–that blows my mind! The next two weekends are jam packed with family Christmas activities so I already know that these remaining 14 days are just going to flyyyy.
I’ve decided to split this year’s Christmas home tour in to two parts since I probably won’t have all of the pictures edited until Friday and I thought it wasn’t fair to make you all wait until then, right?! So today I’ll be sharing the front room and kitchen and then on Friday I’ll get to the dining area and living room. Sound good? Okay come on in!
I always talk about what a struggle decorating the entry table is for me every season, but it actually came together pretty effortlessly this time which was a nice surprise!
During Michaels doorbuster sale I picked up a couple of mini trees to add to my collection, along with this cute snowy hills bucket that fits so well here.
I filled up my DIY pedestal tray with some greenery and pinecones. I love that I’ve been able to use this piece differently each season!
Underneath I decided to keep it the same as I have in previous years, however I added some buffalo check ribbon and greenery to the basket to dress it up a little.
I absolutely love how inviting this space feels.
To the left is the bay window where I like to put the woodland themed tree. This year I got a rotating tree stand to put our tree in and I’m sooo obsessed with it!
Not only does it make the tree feel super magical, it’s really nice to get to see all of the different ornaments as it spins around.
I created fun vigenettes on both the side table and the trunk coffee table.
I’m so excited that I found this set of 4 Christmas pillow covers on Amazon for $20 bucks. You all know how much I loooove pillows so I couldn’t pass them up! I put two of them in here and the other two in the living room.
“Keep in’ It Real” HA-I love it! Speaking of keeping it real, I was hesitant to show you this next view since our stairs are still in their partially demolished state. But then I remembered that we also don’t have any baseboards downstairs and you’ve seen plenty pics of that, so I decided to go ahead and roll with it. This is life in a fixer upper after all!
Okay, let’s swing back in to the kitchen. This space is particularly one of my favorites this year since I just completed the DIY makeover on it this fall!
Because I love this space so much, I even decided to add a small tree in the corner.
The hubby ridiculed me relentlessly when I mentioned adding yet another tree, but when I found this 4′ flocked tree for only $27 (linked here) I took it as a sign that it needed to happen.
I decorated it with farmhouse style themed ornaments and shared it for the 3rd annual Christmas Tree Decor Blog Hop (linked here in case you missed it).
This metal gingerbread sign that I set on the counter is super cute in person, although it’s sort of tricky to photograph it well in our bright kitchen.
The kitchen island may still not have the countertop attached, but at least it’s looking festive!
I set up our traditional hot cocoa station—the kids absolutely love this and this year Tristan actually started getting everything out and set up himself while I was decorating. Cutest thing ever!
I decided to add a little chalkboard sign, however I need to print out a template to trace since I’m not really happy with my handwriting.
We also stepped up our toppings game this year and now have sprinkles, peppermint and cinnamon in addition to marshmallows and chocolate chips.
The candle that I added smells exactly like a Christmas tree and the soft glow that it lets off is so pretty.
I am so happy that you could swing by today and I hope you enjoyed the first part of the tour. I’ll be back on Friday to share the rest, see you all then!
