Haaaaapy Thursday friends! I hope the week has been treating you well and I’m sure you’re all as excited as I am about the long weekend up ahead.
I apologize for getting this post to you guys so late in the week. I was aiming to have this up by Tuesday since I am super excited about this year’s winter home tour. But I found that I took sooooo many pictures that it took me a little while sort through them all and get the best ones edited. Alas, I am done and I can’t wait to share them with you!
As usual, when the Christmas decor comes down I like to keep a cozy wintery vibe going on around here. So I leave out greenery, rearrange things a little and throw in a few hearts for Valentine’s Day. Even though winter may not be my favorite season, these small touches keep the house from feeling quite so dreary!
Front Room
I actually didn’t change up the front room much from how I had it set up for Christmas.
Since most of what I had didn’t have any red, it all worked for winter decor too.
On the entry table I simply replaced the faux presents with the big J, added a new mini tree that I got on clearance at Target and called it done.
Since the bucket on the bottom had red Christmas themed text on it, I just turned it around.
Easy peezy!
I’m a firm believer of not messing with a good thing!
With the Christmas tree down, the storage bench was moved back to it’s original spot in the window.
I’ll give you my usual disclaimer about not having baseboards! It’s been a year now since we finished the floors but since the board and batten still needs to be done I’m holding off.
I added the little sign and birdhouse to the side table for a little Valentine’s Day cheer.
A couple of weeks ago I found the “let’s stay home” sign at Hobby Lobby and love how much better it fits above the mirror than the sign that I had there previously.
The trunk coffee table tray is also pretty similar to how it looked at Christmas.
I replaced the basket of jingle bells with a bucket of mini birch logs and added a little heart dish.
My heart pillow that I made out of thrifted sweaters last year (tutorial here) is back out!
I just adore this cozy little space!
Middle Section
I never really know what to call this section of our main level, so from now on it’s just going to be known as the middle section, ok haha? In the corner by the stairs I set up a fun vignette on the small round table.
I love how it came together and I love walking by this spot.
Both the little sign and the candle were Target Dollar Spot finds…I seriously can’t resist that section!
The mudroom nook that we created out of the old pantry is still flanked by my framed jars holding the same greenery that I used for Christmas.
I think I want to find some frames that are a tad skinner so that I can add craftsman trim around the hallway entrance.
And the tablescape on the dining table hasn’t changed much either!
I switched out the red ticking runner for this blue one and replaced the white lantern with another wood one for a more simplistic look.
I did another wintery vignette on the dresser next to the table.
I made the heart sign a couple of years ago and you can see the tutorial here.
Kitchen
The hot cocoa bar on the island is still up since we still enjoy it through the rest of the cold winter months.
I removed the red and green sprinkles, peppermint and candy canes, however I kept the cinnamon and added Hershey Kisses. The heart tea towel as you may have guessed is another Target Dollar Spot find!
Living Room
Alright let’s swing back to the most cozy room in the house!
The fireplace mantle was simplified by removing the garland and putting up some greenery picks and pinecones in it’s place.
I found the tree pillow at Homegoods on clearance after Christmas for only 5 bucks!
I also found the snowflake crate there and it makes the perfect stand for the lantern and mini tree that I put here.
I made the heart garland (tutorial here) and if you look really close you will see that the text is pages from Romeo and Juliet in true Valentine’s Day fashion.
The big heart pillows were also made out of thrifted sweaters (tutorial here) last year.
The coffee table tray is the same as it was for Christmas. Yep, exactly the same haha!
Oh and so is this wall!
The only actual change was that I wrapped the trees in drop cloth to cover the red and white stripes.
I absolutely love how this room feels and we love spending many hours in here cuddled up watching movies and playing games.
htAnd because he’s too cute not to share, here is my certified “pillow crusher” haha. I’m slowly coming to terms that since adopting this little stink, having perfectly fluffed pillows is a thing of the past!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. I’ll be back next year to kick of the first Thrift Store Challenge of 2020!

Your winter home tour is lovely… and usual, Angela! So, is your pup a Staffordshire or a Pit? I was raised with both, and I’m having a hard time deciphering. Love the ‘blues’… so pretty!
We’ve missed you at Tuesday Turn About… if you have some time, come on over and link-up… we’d love to be placed on your LP schedule! 😉 Always enjoy seeing your posts!

You did a great job on this! I have a bunch of these items already so it would be easy to add to it to get your look. I love how you incorporated Valentine’s Day with the winter theme without using red yet. Gorgeous!
