Hi guys! I hope you’re all having a nice week. I’m off work this week and next and it’s been really nice getting a chance to slow down and enjoy some quality time with the boys. We’ve had an adventure planned each day and have been having so much fun!
Okay let’s dive right in to today’s post because it’s a fun one!
A few months ago I started laying the hardwood flooring upstairs and while I was working in the landing area I decided that in order to really appreciate the new flooring we should replace the doors as well.
Sorry about this crummy phone pic, it’s the only before picture that I actually took!
The small linen closet on that wall right next to the steps used to have a bi-fold door that was the same orange color as the other doors. I originally was just going to get a new bi-fold door to match the style of the other doors, however one night I saw one of my favorite bloggers doing a post about this gorgeous french bi-fold door!
I’ve always loved the beauty of french doors and although it was a bit of a splurge, I decided that if I was going to spend money on a new door it may as well be something that I will love for a long time to come.
It comes unfinished and the glass is protected with a film to make it easy to paint. I used my HomeRight paint sprayer to paint it Urban Bronze by Sherwin Williams.
Doesn’t it pretty this little corner up?
Of course since you can see through it I needed to do some serious organizing in here. Let’s take a peek inside!
For texture I got several water hyacinth baskets (similar). I found them at Michaels but they no longer sell these ones there. Amazon is probably the cheapest place online to find them, but check Homegoods if you have one nearby!
I also grabbed a couple of these rope baskets with leather handles. They are super soft and I love how they look next to the water hyacinth baskets.
And finally I got a set of jumbo linen storage bins for bigger items on the top and bottom shelf.
I can’t even begin to tell you guys how nice it feels to have some real organization in here! Ever since we moved in things had just been kind of stuffed on top of each other and it could take a solid 5 minutes just to find a band aid.
The door comes with a wooden knob but I picked out this one from Hobby Lobby to use instead.
The only other thing that I would like to eventually do here is add a thin piece of plywood to the front of the shelves to make them look chunkier. And then I could even add fun little metal label cards to each one.
I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to finally get this closet under control. I love the feeling of knowing right where everything is 🙂
Thanks for swinging by today guys! I hope you each have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back next week!

Amazing makeover. You are so lucky to have such a great spot for a closet, and the small doors were brilliant. Very nice project, from FFavs., Sandi
