Hi guys, I’m soooo sorry that I missed you all last week! I decided to organize the garage and didn’t get a chance to hop on. It was a huge mess so I became wrapped up out there the entire week. It looks fantastic now though and I’ll try to get some pictures up soon!
Today I am excited to FINALLY share the full powder room reveal! I’ve shared a few pictures here and there, but have yet to do a full reveal since I was waiting to finish up the trim. As you may recall this is what the space looked like when we moved in the summer of 2018.
Originally this room was actually very low on the priority list. We planned on working on the main living spaces first, however the universe had other plans for us! The washing machine busted about two weeks after we moved in and flooded the entire room. We worked with a restoration company and they had to rip everything out.
Ugh. Since a functioning bathroom on the main level was a big must for us, we got to work right away. We began by picking out this gorgeous distressed tile and chose to have it installed to save time (and our sanity!)
Next, I decided to install 1/4″ plywood strips on the walls for a fun shiplap look.
Then after weeks of not finding a vanity that liked in our budget, I decided to sort of create our own. We started with this inexpensive base from Home Depot and then added our own wood top and vessel sink. (The full tutorial on the process can be found in this post)
After that was in we added finishing touches like new lighting and decor which brought it to here.
It looked pretty good and maybe even complete to some people! However if you look closely at the picture above you’ll notice that it was missing trim on the corners and around the ceiling. It sat like this for the last two years until I got a random burst of energy and decided to complete it a few weeks ago. Here is how it looks today!
I am so extremely happy that I can finally call this space done!
Okay, let’s chat about the details, starting with the vanity area.
Unfortunately the wood barrel mirror is currently out of stock which is a total bummer because I know that a lot of you have asked me about it.
I’m hoping that since the link is still active that maybe they will get it back in stock one day. The most similar one that I could find is this one on Amazon. The wall basket is also out of stock, but luckily I was able to find another similar one on Amazon. But the good news is that these pretty gray and white towels are still carried at Target!
When I first spotted this antique bronze vanity light I knew right away that it would be perfect for this space, and I was right!
The faucet looks and feels a lot more expensive than it really was.
It pairs perfectly with the vessel sink.
This little vanity area is exactly what I envisioned when we first purchased the house and I’m thrilled with how it came together.
I’ve had this industiral pipe shelf set for many years and it looks great above the toilet.
You all know how much I love my little signs, so when I found this powder room wall script I just had to have it!
I painted the gold bar white so that it blends in better.
The long mirror was an awesome curbside find. A neighbor had set out by the trash so I snatched it up and painted/distressed it and it fits perfectly on this wall. The chicken wire toilet paper holder was from old house and adds that cute farmhouse flair.
On the other side of that half wall is the washer and dryer. Since we used to have a basement laundry area, we are ecstatic to have a main level one in this house!
We built the floating shelves to replace the shelving that was there previously. They were so simple and inexpensive to put togheter and are a major upgrade from the wire ones!
I found the black wire baskets for super cheap years ago, however I just noticed that their price on Amazon is currently really high. Hopefully it goes down again!
I used to think that I wanted to build a pocket door or barn door to separate the areas, however the laundry area turned out so pretty that I like it staying open!
The black metal cage light was an awesome find and I am so happy with it that I got another one for our closet!
The room is sort of narrow, so for the back wall I simply hung a few metal wall hooks to hang a couple decor pieces and we also use them to hang clothes that don’t go in the dryer.
Here’s a couple of fun before and after comparisons!
Such an amazing difference! Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend. See you back here next week for this month’s Thrift Store Challenge!

I LOVE this! You did an amazing job! We did a bedroom makeover and a bathroom makeover last year (which included ripping down old green tile…yikes!) Like you, I’ve been busy and still haven’t posted about the projects. Hoping I’ll find the time soon! Thanks so much for linking up with us for Friday Favorites. I’m featuring you this week.

Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Kudos
