Happy Tuesday my friends. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We enjoyed a much needed date night, worked on a few house projects and even toured a beautiful model home that we are considering building one day. It was pretty perfect and I’m looking forward to a short work week 🙂
So earlier this month my baby boy turned FIVE years old! We celebrated with a small family party and it was such a fun day. It’s taken me awhile to go through and edit the photos, but I’m excited to share how it turned out with you guys today.
Okay let’s start with the food!
I made turkey and cheese croissants and labeled them “Omnivores”
I set up a meat and cheese tray for “Carnivores” and as a cute added touch I popped a couple pieces inside the dino’s mouths.
The “Herbivore” station was set up using a cute seagrass tray that I found at the Target dollar spot.
And finally Lucas helped me put together “Prehistoric Dirt” cups filled with pudding/cool whip topped with crushed Oreos.
We used mini palm trees, chocolate river rocks and mini dinosaurs on top and they turned out so cute.
All of it put together made the perfect presentation.
To dress up this spot I purchased a package of mixed artifical leaves and had a couple of tree stump slices to give off a nature feeling.
On the other side of the kitchen we mixed up some green Hawaiian punch with Squirt soda to make “Dino-Mite Punch”
It was a super tasty combo and it was a big hit.
I ordered a dinosaur themed cake from King Soopers and then added a few mini palm trees, chocolate river rocks and crushed oreos.
He was so excited when he saw it.
Decor was made simple since Lucas has a plethora of dinosaur toys. I created a fun tablescape using a few dinos, some large rocks, moss and mixed artifical leaves.
Over in the living room I decorated the mantle with balloons and more mixed artifical leaves.
I also displayed the treat bags on the mantle which were handmade footprint cookies. To make them I simply took a cleaned toy dinosaur to make foot prints and dusted some cinnamon inside the footprint before baking them.
I also tossed in some chocolate river rocks on the bottom of the bag.
I purchased this awesome dinosaur party decorating kit on Amazon and I was sooo surprised with how much was included. It came with tons of balloons, including the giant dinosaur ones that Lucas was obsessed with.
It was the perfect backdrop while he opened his presents.
Even though we missed having all of our friends over like we normally do, it was still a wonderful celebration and the birthday boy had an absolute blast.

Absolutely adorable! Both of my boys loved dinosaurs when they were younger. This would have been such fun party theme for either of them.
Thanks for sharing at TFT!
