Hello everyone and happy Wednesday 🙂 It’s been cold and cloudy nearly every day for the past two weeks and I think most of us here in Colorado are 110% over it. Fortunately we are expecting some nice weather this weekend and I’m really hoping that it helps pick up my mood and motivation a bit because both have been just as dreary as the weather!
So I’ve been trying to work on a few small things here and there to keep myself from falling too deep into a rut. Whenever I’m feeling blah I always find that a good organizational task helps. Last week I shared how I organized under the kitchen sink.
I was so happy with how it turned out that I decided to tackle our laundry room shelves as well. Here is how they turned out!
I failed to snap a before picture, but they actually weren’t too bad–just not as pretty and functional as I wanted.
Okay let’s dive right into the details.
I’ve had these wire baskets for a long time and I used to keep them in the basement storage area. I decided to bring 4 of them up here to hold various things like sewing items and extra cleaning items.
I love how they have little plastic pieces on the bottom to help them slide in and out and I also enjoy how the liners are easy to remove and throw in the washer.
I haven’t filled in the chalkboard labels yet since I’m not quite done organizing each one, but hopefully I can finish up soon.
Next, I filled up three large glass canisters.
I filled them with Tide Free and Clear Detergent Pods, Oxiclean Powder and Wood Dryer Balls.
We recently started using these dryer balls and I’m wondering where these have been all my life! They cut down on dry time and make our stuff come out much softer and less wrinkled.
I found this cute wooden coffee scoop and decided that it was much more visually appealing than the little plastic cup that comes with the Oxiclean. And as luck would have it one scoop equates to the level 1 line on the plastic cup 🙂
I created labels on Canva.com and printed them out on waterproof vinyl sticker paper and cut them out just as I did for the kitchen last week (the template can be found in my Etsy shop here).
I used amber plastic spray bottles to hold stain remover and wrinkle releaser. I also filled one up with plain water to use for ironing.
I set them on this rattan tray that I found at the Target Dollarspot (similar here) and I love having them so accessible.
The Self Service Laundry Mirror is something that I found at World Market many years ago and unfortunately it doesn’t look like they sell it anymore. I found this sign that’s very similar though.
I’m so happy with how this space turned out and even though doing laundry is still a chore, it makes it a little more enjoyable when I come in and see this pretty organized space.
In case you’re wondering the light is this budget one from Amazon and the shelves were a DIY that I shared a tutorial for
Thanks for swinging by today, I hope you each have a good rest of the week and a happy weekend!
