Hey everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving! It’s now officially time to start getting ready for Christmas and I’ve been a busy little bee over here getting our house decorated. The first thing I worked on was our big tree in the front window and I’m so excited to share it with you all for this year’s Christmas Tree Decor Blog Hop!
If you’re swinging over from the talented Beverly from Across the Blvd, welcome to my blog!
Without further ado here is our woodland themed tree!
I began by putting on wide burlap ribbon as I always have, however this year I added strips of dark green velvet ribbon.
I also added pieces of this white and black ribbon that has a cozy Norwegian knit pattern on it.
And finally I tied on smaller strips of ribbon in green crushed velvet and cream velvet.
Switching ribbon on a tree from year to year is the best way to achieve a fun new look. This is the first year introducing color on this tree so I was a little nervous, but I am thrilled with how it turned out!
I wanted to stick with the woodland theme as we have in previous years for this tree, so I hung up our little woodland creatures.
I added some new wooden snowflakes that I got from Hobby Lobby. The mercury glass ones are especially magical looking!
The black lanterns and the paper lanterns are from Hobby Lobby and I love the whimsical feeling that they give the tree. I found these tea lights on Amazon and they are set up on timers to turn on and off each night.
I found the small snowflake blocks at Hobby Lobby and that larger ones at Target and simply screwed in a cup hook so that I could attach them to the tree.
I finished it all off with green bulbs to compliment the ribbon and brown to add to the woodsy feeling.
I am absolutely smitten with how it came together! Most of the ornaments came from Hobby Lobby and are already out of stock but I will link similar options at the end of the post.

You woodland tree is very pretty love that you put full size lanterns into it, I love that look a lot it helps out with scale for the tree ornaments, I tried doing that one year in a live one, LOL those poor branches never stood a chance.
