Hello and happy Friday!
I am making an attempt to share some of the older flips that I never got around to, so you can expect to see those over the next couple of weeks as I catch up.
Up today is this nightstand set that I worked on with my sweet boy!
He wanted to help out to earn some money and I was all for having some assistance!

We started by removing the hardware and cleaning up the surfaces with Simple Green to remove the dirt and grime.
The tops had really bad water damage and peeling veneer, so we removed the pieces that were coming loose and then sanded until the surface was smooth. I later went back and used Bondo to repair the uneven areas.
I then used my foam pad attachment to sand the detailing around the bases.
I primed them with clear shellac to block bleed through and then once it was dry, I started painting.
Once I had the first coat on, I popped the top drawers out and brought them inside. I taped a piece of painters tape across the top, then pressed some quart paint sticks on. I drew a line on each one where they needed to be cut, and simply used scissors to trim them.
Next, I removed the tape strip with the sticks then applied a liberal amount of wood glue before pressing the sticks on. The tape kept everything in line so that I didn’t have to fiddle with each one separately.
I placed a piece of scrap wood on top then clamped them as they dried.
Once they were dry, I stained the sticks to match the bases and this is how they turned out!
I loved how the soft creamy color blended with the light wood tones and out of all of the nightstands that I’ve done these have probably been the ones that I’ve been most tempted to keep!
I chose these pretty wood floral knobs and bold floral paper to give them a boho touch.
These beauties were quick to find a home!
I hope you have a great weekend and I’ll be back next week to share another flip!
