About Me

Hey there! I’m so happy that you’ve stopped by my little old blog. My name is Angela and I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my husband, our two boys, step daughter, dog and cat.

I love everything home, from decorating to renovations. Although I enjoy an occasional splurge here an there, I typically like to work on a small budget and enjoy seeing what I can accomplish using thrifted items and DIY projects.

When I started this blog back in 2014, the only tools I could use were a hammer and a screwdriver. Since then I have been encouraged to expand my DIY skills and can now take on almost anything–except for the table saw, that thing still scares me!

Our Story…

It all began when Anthony and I met in 2011. His charismatic personality swept me off of my feet and I knew right away that he was the one.  SUPER cheesy, I know! Here’s a few old grainy pictures from our youth.

We moved in to our first apartment together after just three short months of dating, and at 5 months on my 25th birthday he proposed!

Our wedding everything that I had ever dreamed of which was pink, pink and more pink!  I am so lucky that Anthony understood my obsession with my favorite color (so long as he and his guys didn’t have to sport any pink!)

And then shortly after we were blessed with our baby Tristan!

There’s a funny story behind our maternity pictures for him.  It had rained for 4 weekends straight so we finally just went with it and took our pictures in the middle of a thunderstorm.  We joked that maybe the weather was foreshadowing his personality and boy were we right!

Tristan (also knows as T-bone, Tristan bean or T) is the perfect example of what you would call a “strong willed child.”  He is stubborn, short-tempered and has no problem telling anyone what to do!  But he is also a total sweet heart that loves being silly and has more energy than I ever knew was possible. Here is a current day photo of my wild child.

A few months after he was born we became first time home owners.  We got an amazing deal on a house that needed a little bit of work. Okay, a lot of work!

That’s when the real fun and my obsession with home DIY began! All the way from those long nights of painting the kitchen cabinets prior to moving in…

which were painted over again 6 months later when I decided that I wanted white instead…

To having our whole house (and us) covered in popcorn ceiling remnants.

After almost a year of living in our home we found out that Tristan was being promoted!

We were so excited to welcome our sweet Lucas (also known as “Lukey Pookie!”) to the family.

He is our go with the flow, happy boy who loves to play and has such a fun wild imagination. Here is a recent pic of my silly little guy.

He thinks his older brother is the coolest thing in the world and Tristan thinks he’s pretty cool too–most of the time haha! They both look up to their big sister and even though she has officially reached teenager status, she is so patient with them.

Okay, so back to our house journey. By 2018 realized that we had quickly outgrown our house and no longer enjoyed being on such a busy street, so we decided to sell and purchase a new fixer upper!

The new layout was perfect for our family and since it sits in a quiet cozy cul-de-sac that backs to open space, we knew right away that it would be the perfect fit for us. We’ve been working on renovating this house one room at a time and as I write this we are just about complete with exception to the basement.

I think I will always enjoy switching things up and coming up with new additions, so truly no room will never really be seen as “done” in my eyes and I am perfectly fine with that!

I look forward to continuing to share our journey with all of you 🙂

  • My go-to decor color that I am absolutely obsessed with is white, however lately I’ve been adding in pops of black here and there.
  • I am a fierce perfectionist which can be both a blessing and a curse.
  • I’ve been creating and designing since I was a kid. Starting with my own little craft shops when I was 5, all the way to my own theme decorated “restaurants” in one of the spare bedrooms by the time I was 10.
  • I hate clutter…it makes me freak out and I find myself tidying the house several times a day.
  • I have a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and have never used it.
  • Although I am good at finishing projects, I have a hard time sticking to one at a time.
