I finally finished painting our dining room table and chairs! It was a lot of work but the outcome made it totally worth it 🙂
Here is the before picture. It wasn’t bad but it definitely needed refreshing. It has been with me since I got my first apartment 5 years ago and I felt that our dining area could use some major brightening up.
I tried new placemats and chair cushions, but it still drove me nuts.
Here it is now! You can read about my steps along the way in this post here.
I left off trying to decide what to do about a protective coat. After much much research I finally decided to do a polycrylic satin finish on the white and a polyutherane semi-gloss finish on the espresso. The polycrylic won’t yellow the white like the polyutherane would, and the polyuthereane is supposed to be super durable so it works great on the higher use areas.
This picture shows the wear and tear on it before a little bit better.
Ahh! So fresh and purdy now 🙂
I smile pretty much anytime I walk by it. Even though this project was a PAAAAAIN and a half to finish, I am so happy with the way it turned out and how it completely transformed our dining room.
Linking up to these awesome parties!

I recently helped my daughter with a dining set makeover. I have yet to share it. It's a lot of work but, in the end well worth it! Love how yours turned out! Thanks for sharing @DearCreatives party! Hope to see you again this week. Theresa
