Getting Rid of That Annoying Drawer Slip

April 7, 2015

Hello hello! I’m back after a nice refreshing 3 day weekend. I hope everyone had a nice Easter. We hosted brunch and had an egg hunt for the kiddos so the day was fun but exhausting.

Over the weekend I finally checked off one thing that’s been on my to-do list for a very long time, which is adding liner to the kitchen drawers.

It’s a super easy and quick fix, but the hardest part is finding a nice pattern. Most of the ones that I saw did not appeal to me at all (apples and checkerboard, fake granite, fake wood etc.)

Then one day at the dollar store I stumbled upon this beauty of a design!

Pretty right? And since I was feeling proud of our kitchen after re-painting the cabinets (again) haha, I was super excited to finally do this.

One roll is 12″ x 30″ so it only covers about 1 drawer, but for $6 I was able to get all 6 kitchen drawers done. Not bad at all!

I started by vacumming each drawer out so that I didn’t trap any little crumbs underneath.

Since our drawers are just a teensy bit wider than the 12″ width of the roll, I measured out a small strip for the side and hot glued it down first.

Then I hot glued the main piece down on top.

And it’s that easy, peeps! Now our utensil tray and drawer organizers don’t slide all over the place when we open the drawers. And they look pretty too!

Some of our drawers were pretty old and nasty, but now you would never know πŸ™‚

Next I need to do our bathroom drawers. But I want something a little darker since my drawer that I keep all of my hair brushes, combs and bobby pins in gets a lot of use. So the search continues!

Have a fantastic day everybody!
