Hello and thanks for stopping by today to see the progress that I’ve made on our master bathroom for the One Room Challenge! If you missed the post from last week you can catch up on the plans that I have for this space here.
As a reminder this is our very basic bathroom that we are starting with.
I mentioned that the first thing I wanted to do in here was install a half wall of shiplap (or v-groove planking to be more specific) to add some character and to lighten up the entire room.
I got a great start on the first wall…
And then my progress came to a big halt and sat like this until Sunday.
Tristan came down with a cold that turned into croup and then passed the cold to Lucas and his turned into an ear infection. So my focus was shifted to taking care of my babies during the week and by the time the weekend arrived I had a baby shower Saturday afternoon and a birthday get together for one of my close friends on Saturday night.
This picture was taken on Sunday morning. Please excuse the clutter field that our vanity has become…
I kept it real for you guys and even left Lucas’ red teddy who has been hanging out in here all week.
The vanity is about 99% painted and just needs a few touch ups here and there. I hope to have the doors and cabinets put back on this week and that alone will make me fee so much better.
Can you spot my super cute chicken wire toilet paper holder (affiliate link) holder hanging out inside the vanity? It’s even cuter than it looked online and I absolutely can’t wait to put it up!
Sunday afternoon the hubby offered to put up my second wall of shiplap for me and I didn’t argue. I’m so lucky ♥
- Finish the touch ups on the vanity and re-attach the doors and hardware
- Start (and possibly complete??) the finishing process on the shiplap
Wish me luck–this weekend is already pretty jam packed! On Saturday we have our town’s annual egg hunt which will be followed by coloring eggs at home so I may be able to squeeze in a little time during the boys’ naptime. And then for Easter Sunday we are hosting our family for brunch but I plan to get down to business that afternoon.
Be sure to check out the progress that my fellow brave One Room Challenge guest participants have made here.

I love the idea of doing a half wall of shiplap in the bathroom instead of all the way up to the ceiling! I'm excited to see how the room looks at the end of the challenge too! Thanks for linking up at the Home Matters Link Party! We hope to see you again next week:) #HomeMattersParty

Thank you for sharing this with us at The Creative Circle Link Party! I'm doing our powder room for the ORC, so seeing your progress makes me excited to get our renovation started. The wall looks great! I was hoping to do something similar, if our contractor can figure out a way to make it work around the toiled. I'm crossing my fingers, but really I think I'm going to end up with blank white walls. I'll just have to live vicariously through you! I'll be sharing your post on this week's The Creative Circle Link Party! 🙂

Thank you Iris! Working around the toilet actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be so fingers crossed that you will be able to. Either way I'm sure it will look great 🙂
