Hello everyone! So last week in my One Room Challenge Week 4 Update I threw some big news out there…WE ARE MOVING!
The whole thing happened super fast and last week was so chaotic that I felt like I didn’t really get a chance to dive into it on the blog. So I wanted to take a quick minute to update you all on how this all got rolling.
When we purchased our current house almost 4 years ago Tristan was only 8 months old and it was absolutely perfect for us.
This was taken the day after we closed!
We took on almost every renovation on our own and learned so much along the way.
Things like cabinet painting…
Two rounds of cabinet painting actually because I decided that I wanted white instead of espresso about 6 months down the road haha!
And popcorn ceiling removal…
Which was messy but oh so worth it!
However as Tristan grew, so did the amount of stuff that filled our house. And when Lucas was born we started realizing that a little more space would be really nice to have.
I shared a post a few months back about utilizing Hidden Toy Storage for Small Living Spaces in which I shared my secrets on minimizing toy clutter on our main level by stashing things in cubbies and storage benches.
However even with my storage creativity we’ve started feeling pretty cramped.
We submitted a couple of offers on homes which of course weren’t accepted, but we kept patiently waiting.
Just when my hopes were starting to fall and I was starting to feel like our timeline was going to be pushed out a year or more…this beauty came on the market!
The hubby snapped this Monday on his phone at the inspection (hence the ladder!) but it’s the only picture I have to share with you so far.
It has perfect layout on the main floor, backs to open space, is on a quiet cul-de-sac and of course has those stunning bay windows up front. I am already envisioning our Christmas tree shining cheerfully in that one downstairs!
BUT…it needs a lot of updating. Like a lot. We’re talking renovation projects galore! Which of course is my passion, so it will be fun journey. I cannot wait to make this one just as beautiful as our current home.
We got the news last Tuesday night and I took Wednesday off from work to get our house ready to be listed on Thursday. Which by the way, was a ton of work but I somehow pulled it off!
We officially went under contract on Sunday evening and I feel really good about the new family that we chose.
There’s still quite a few stepping stones in this process that we need to get through but that’s where we are at so far.
I’ll share some more pictures after we close which should hopefully be sometime in early June if all goes according to plan.
We are so excited to take on this next stage of our lives and I can’t wait to share all of the steps along the way with you guys!

Yay! Love the new home! You have a new palette to play and have fun with! 🙂 Backing to open space and living on a cul-de-sac are definite pluses!
