Although I’ve been doing small DIY projects for years, I’m slowly starting to step out of my comfort zone and tackle larger and larger projects. Our kitchen table has been driving me nuts for a while now. I got it when I moved into my very first apartment 5 years ago and boy has it has been through a lot! It has plenty of scratches and I guess you could call it very loved haha.
I have been debating about painting it white for a while now but was wondering if it would wash away against the wall and I also wondered about keeping the top clean, especially with a one year old!
And then a lightbult went off–I could go two-toned! I know I want the top brown to keep every little spec of spaghetti sauce from showing and I want the seats brown to match. I consulted with trusty Mr. Google for some examples.
I’m thinking about using the espresso we used on the cabinets. And hey–I have a ton of that left so it would save some $$ which is always a good thing 😉
It would probably look very similar to this. In fact those chairs are almost identical to ours!
I’m sooooo dreading all of the work excited haha!
The hubby is going out of town for work tomorrow, which leaves me home alone tomorrow night so it will be a good excuse to get started on it. It will be tough living without a table for a while but hopefully the end result with make it so worth it. Stay tuned!
P.S. Thanks to spell check, I just learned that I used the word “awhile” three times in this blog in the wrong context. Did you know that “awhile” is used to describe a short amount of time aka “stay awhile” but “a while” is used to describe a length of time. Huh. Learn something new every day!
