Hey friends, long time no talk! I have been super busy this past week getting the house decorated for Christmas. It seems like each year I tend to accumulate more and more stuff so it takes me longer each year to get it all set up–I’m sure a lot of you can probably relate!
Last night I tackled the last space on the list which was the basement. Our basement is unfinished but towards the end of the summer I got the motivation to make it feel cozier. I still want to paint the ceiling black and possibly add some peel and stick flooring, but for now we have been enjoying the “updated” space quite a bit. We have been spending more time down there, so naturally we needed a Christmas tree!
Since we upgraded our bay window tree to a 9′ and moved the 7.5′ to the living room, we had an extra tree and I knew it would be perfect down here.
I snuck it in the boys’ play corner so that they could enjoy it while they play and so that we could admire it from the couch.
I went with a cream, black and white theme to match the rest of the vibe down here.
I started with a wide glittery cream ribbon, and then added thinner black and gold ribbon to the branches.
Next, I added the larger “fun” ornaments that came from Hobby Lobby, including the white spheres with black trees, plush trees/stars, wood bead wreaths, shiny trees and signs.
The knit mitten and stocking ones came from Target and the mini wood bead wreaths from Walmart.
I finished it up with this set of black and cream shatterproof spheres from Target as well as a package of white ones from Hobby Lobby.
Just because our basement is unfinished, I refuse to let it be a wasted space!
We are going to make the absolute most of it!
I hope you all have a beautiful rest of your week and a fantastic weekend!
