Essential Oils from Simply Earth: December Box

December 6, 2019

Hi friends, happy Friday! As promised, I’m back today to share this month’s box from Simply Earth. The theme for December was of course…gift giving!

This is my absolute favorite time of the year and so of course I fell in love with the Christmas-ey theme of this box. They included some wonderful recipes that could be given as gifts and even included some cute gift tags!

Let’s chat about the four awesome oils that came this month.

  • Mandarin smells very similar to orange essential oil but I feel like it smells a tad more citrusy so it’s perfect for the holidays. It has relaxing and calming properties and it’s also known to sooth sore muscles.
  • Candy Cane is a blend composed of Peppermint, Wintergreen, Sweet Orange and Cassia and smells absolutely delicious–good enough to eat haha!
  • Peppermint is wonderful for clearing congestion and can help ease inflammation and headaches. It leaves a nice cooling sensation and I’ve actually been using it for years to help with my migraines.
  • Pine Scotch smells much line a pine tree which is obviously a wonderful scent to fill the air with during this month! It’s known to act as a naturally pain reliever and is also a decongestant.

Wonderful picks for this time of year, right?!

1. Christmas Candy Diffuser Blend

This blend really does smell just like the classic Christmas hard candies that I remember growing up. It’s only safe for 12 and up, so I like to diffuse it when the kiddos have gone to bed. It creates such a fun aroma!

2. Cold Buster Roll On

Another thing that usually creeps in our house this time of year is the nasty cold bug. The peppermint and pine scotch in this roll on can be applied to your pulse points to relieve congestion and the mandarin can help you feel more energized.

3. Citrus Christmas Room Spray

This one is probably my favorite recipe in this box! It’s mandarin and pine scotch diffused with distilled water and it makes the house smell like we have a real Christmas tree. And there’s something about mandarin scent that just really says Christmas to me so I love having the scent fill our home. I also like the little amber bottle that they included, with the festive label it looks super cute sitting out on the kitchen counter!

4. Mandarin and Coffee Sugar Scrub

This ultra yummy smelling sugar scrub is a wonderful way to exfoliate dry winter skin. You simply scrub a little bit of it in to your skin, let it sit for about 10 minutes, rinse it off and you are left with nice soft skin! The uplifting and energizing properties of the mandarin are a nice added bonus.

5. Peppermint & Pine Salve

This was super easy to make! I don’t have a double boiler so I simply heated everything up in a glass bowl in the microwave. It’s another great way to help decongest if you’re suffering with the sniffles. It’s sort of like Vicks vapor rub, but the smell is much less overpowering.

6. Candy Cane Lip Balm

How fun are these?? They smell exactly like a candy cane and I think that they would be really great to tie on to a gift.

I’m so amazed with this box and had an absolute blast making all of the recipes. Remember, if you use the promo code: SBBANGELAFREE on your subscription order from Simply Earth you will receive a $40 gift card with your first box which also includes a Big Bonus Box. This is where you will get all of those extras like bottles, rollers, almond oil, coconut oil etc.

Oh and one more thing! Since the montly recipee boxes have been selling out so quickly before mid-month, Simply Earth is launching something called a Starter Box. This way, if you’re interested in starting a subscription in the middle of a month you don’t have to wait long for your very own box. Pretty neat huh?

The starter box also has recipe cards and will come with a free Bonus Box.

I hope you all have a very wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here next week!
