Happy Thanksgiving friends! Popping in quickly to share another fun flip before I set off to start cooking!

Supplies Used:(Affiliate links may be provided for convenience.  For more info, see my full disclosure here.)

  • Sander
  • Shellac Primer
  • Quart Stir Sticks
  • Jigsaw
  • Miter Saw
  • Plywood
  • Wood Glue
  • Enamel Paint
  • Paint Sprayer
  • Stain
  • Ultra Flat Polyacrylic
  • Knobs
  • Contact Paper

When I found this on Marketplace I first thought that it was real wood. When I learned that it was just MDF and laminate, I decided to take it on anyways because of the beautiful details!

Being laminate meant that it would all be painted but I still wanted to bring in some wood tones, so I decided to jigsaw out the cabinet doors so that I could put some plywood panels in.

I also used the jigsaw to take off the decorative pieces along the bottom to modernize it.

I then used a 120 grit sandpaper to scuff sand the entire piece which would prep it for primer and paint. I also sanded down the hardware holes that I filled with Bondo.

I wiped it down and then primed it with shellac.

After if was dry I came back and started painting. I chose the color creamy mushroom by Behr.

I added in the wood panels to the doors and also decided to add some craft sticks to the top drawers. I sealed it all up with poly and here is how it turned out!

The lighting wasn’t ideal when I took these photos so I don’t feel like they truly do it justice!

I loved how the rattan knobs and shape on the doors gave it the perfect boho flair!

As you can see I did decide to lightly distress it which was a last minute call and I think it was a good one since it really pulled out the details on the doors.

I chose a boho style paper that fit this piece perfectly.

Thanks for swinging by today, I hope you all have a great Thabksgiving!
