Hey everyone happy Friday! Even though I’m bummed to see summer coming to and end, I am really looking forward to the long weekend ahead. We have a lot planned and it should be a lot of fun!
I’m ending the week with a quick post to share a couple of updates that I finally added to our staircase wall that has been blank for most of this year!
As some of you may recall, back in February we took down the old photo gallery and installed wrap around board and batten.

I knew that I wanted to hang something above it on the staircase side, but I wasn’t exactly sure what that should be, so I kept putting it off….for about 6 months!
A couple of weeks ago I finally got the motivation to start ordering a few things to see if my ideas would work and I’m happy to report that they did!
I knew that I still wanted some photos displayed, but instead of a full gallery wall I chose four large ones and put them in this pretty set of light wood frames.
The first one was simple to hang…
But the next ones took some bravery! I was just barely able to reach from across the banister. I knew that as long as my feet stayed planted on the ground I would be ok, so I went slowly and carefully!
And finally I got it!
I love the fact that they have plexiglass rather than real glass for safety reasons, and the quality is so good that you honestly can’t tell the difference!
I didn’t want them to feel too lonely, so I added a pair of wireless picture lights above them.
They look hardwired, but they aren’t-each one operates off a rechargeable battery! Once you install the mounting bracket they easily slide on and off to recharge.
I found that the charge actually lasts for a very long time. We turn them on for about an hour each night while we are upstairs getting everyone bathed and I have only found myself charging them once so far. I even left them on for an entire evening when we had company over and they never dimmed.
The remote has an option for warm or bright white, and you can also change the dimness.
I find the timer option useful so I can turn them on when we go upstairs for bath time and have them automatically turn off once we are done.
I am so happy that I finally got this wall looking not so empty!
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend my friends!
