Goodwill Mirror Makeover

September 9, 2015

Hello hello! Sorry I’ve been MIA the last two weeks, I’ve been so busy working on the big boy room that I haven’t had much time to blog about it!

Today I wanted to share a quick project that I did to take a break from working on the room. I’ve been having fun with it, but sometimes after working on the same thing for months you need to work on something else!

During a recent Goodwill trip to find frames for the gallery wall that I’m making in Tristan’s room, I ran across this little beauty.

It was 50% off day so I for $3 I couldn’t resist. I have somewhat of an obsession with mirrors, I’m pretty sure we have at least two in every space of the house. I just love how much they open a space up!

I started by taping off the mirror the best that I could. Any spots that paint leaks through are easily scraped off once dry.

I wanted a distressed look so I first applied a coat of dark brown paint so that it would show through after distressing.

I threw two coats of white chalk paint on top and then used a fine sand paper to distress.

It looks so cute behind the garage door. Don’t worry, we have a door stop that prevents the door from hitting it!

It’s exactly what this space needed, and for $3 I couldn’t be happier!

Have a great rest of the week, I’ll try to be back next week with some progress on the big boy room!

Linking up to these awesome parties!

Thank you Kim! I agree, I figured that I didn't have much to lose if it didn't turn out like I thought it would 😉 haha

I certainly wouldn't pass up a mirror for $3! Turned out great! Popping over from Grace at Home.

The mirror looks great. Certainly worth more than $3 now.
