Christmas Home Tour 2015

December 11, 2015

Hello Friends and happy Friday! I’m so excited to be sharing our Christmas Home Tour today!

I’m really happy with how everything looks and the best part is that I only spent $8 this year. Crazy right? Being in the final weeks of my third trimester I had zero energy to go out and buy anything, plus we’re still on a tight budget. So I used the most of what we already had and did a little bit of creative DIYing!

I’ve always decorated for Christmas in all neutral colors, but this year you’ll notice that I decided to be extra cheery by throwing in some red accents and I must say, I’m now obsessed!

Come on in and lets get started!  I’ll try to let the pictures do most of the talking.  No promises!

I got this wreath on sale last year at Joann’s and it is one of the prettiest onces that I’ve ever seen.  I love its whimsy and simplistic feel.

I really enjoy dressing up my DIY entry table for the season since it’s something that we see everytime we come downstairs.  (by the way the kids have been having a blast with their Ribbon Advent Calenders this year!)

The red jingle bells are new this year curteousy of the dollar store!  Last year I only had white ones but I love how festive the red ones are.

I didn’t change much on the banister from last year except we now have cute little monogram frames with our pictures.  Tristan loves to talk about them almost every day!

Coming down into our living room you can see the new pillow covers that I made this year using napkins from Homegoods and more Goodwill sweater pillows.

It’s so cozy cuddling up on the couch with this view of my Patchwork Pillows and my DIY Rustic Vase holding some logs.

The mantle is just a little different than last years. I still used burlap and jingle bells but added the pinecone twigs and a big pretty red bow.  Unfortunately the twigs used to light up and don’t anymore, but I still like the way they look!

My little DIY wood tree that I made from scrap wood is super happy here 🙂

Around the corner is our Christmas tree.

I added a couple of rolls of burlap to give it a rustic feel, and I am such a sucker for unique glass ornaments.  I keep them up higher of course 🙂

Our dining area is also decked out with a simple centerpiece.

You may notice that I always just decorate the same planter box differently for the season.  One day I may surprise everyone and do something different but for now I just love how simple and pretty this is.

The mini jingle bells are another dollar store find (aren’t they just too cute??).  I just tied them onto some twine with fine string.

The storage cabinet that I built a couple of weeks ago needed some love too!

Finally we have our mudroom.  I busted out my beloved DIY Christmas Tree Plank Art from last year and added some burlap, pinecones and snowball ornaments to the baskets below it.

As much as I love the wreath on our front door, this pincone one is a close runner up.  I purchased it at the Goodwill this summer for just $3. It just needed the broken berries cut off and a nice bow added to it : )

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Thank you Cassie! I have a hard time sticking to modern or rustic so I enjoy combining the two 🙂
