Hello everyone! I’m dropping in super quick today to share my summer decorating that I had so much fun with this year!
Even though summer doesn’t officially start until later this month I always mark June 1st as the beginning of summer. I couldn’t even wait until the weekend–as soon as I came home from work last Wednesday I started putting it all up. And yes as usual, the hubby called me a crazy person for doing this all after a long work day haha.
I was so excited to add some summer cheer around the house.
I was originally aiming for a nautical lakeside vibe but ended up with more of a summer-nights-on-the-porch kind of feel instead and am totally loving it!
I love breaking out my DIY summertime wreath every year. The whimsy always inspires me to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Cheesy, I know 🙂
If you follow me on Facebook you may remember seeing this awesome basket tray that I scored at Goodwill for only $2.50. I gave it a couple of coats of whitewash to mute the somewhat orange tint that it had.
It adds nice texture to our entry table and is holding some more hydrangeas (it’s safe to say that I’m officially obsessed with these flowers).
The fabrics that I chose to make our summer pillow covers are just bright enough to feel summery without overwhelming my mostly neutral color pallet. As most of you may already know, decorating with color can be scary for me since I love my neutrals so much, but when I actually do decide to throw in color I enjoy how much it adds to the space.
I didn’t break the bank it which is always a plus! I mostly shopped the dollar spot at Target and I scored huge at Jo-Ann’s sale on Memorial Day weekend for the flowers and pillow fabric.
Have a happy rest of the week my friends and try to get out there to enjoy that sunshine!

I adore your "cool" color palette for Summer, dear one!
Light and bright and quite inviting!
