Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by on this exciting day!
Last Fall I took on my very first One Room Challenge to redesign our master bedroom. It was six weeks of late nights, paint covered hands and a garage that looked like a tornado had blown through it. But once it was over I was so happy with how it turned out!

But you guys. Our bathroom has been staring longingly at the pretty new bedroom and it has been getting kind of jealous. So I’ve decided to take on the challenge once again and this time I will be working on our master bathroom!
In case you haven’t heard of it before the One Room Challenge is an awesome event that occurs twice a year and is hosted by the wonderful Linda at Calling It Home. Designers have just six short weeks to transform an entire room and post about their progress once a week.
It’s such a fun journey and I really enjoy following so many talented bloggers and watching their amazing transformations. Although a six week deadline is tough it is a great way to push yourself to get an entire room knocked out!
So…our bathroom. This is a somewhat awful photo of what our bathroom looked like before we moved in.
We refinished the vanity, framed the mirror and replaced a few fixtures, which brings us to what it looks like currently.
The vanity usually has a lot more clutter going on but I was nice and moved it out of the picture because trust me, nobody wants to see my husband’s 13 different razors and my broken make-up mirror!๏ปฟ
Across from the vanity is our tub-shower and our walk in closet.
I really like the natural light that we get from the window on this side (although you can’t see it here since I closed our shower curtain because…more clutter).
Definitely a step up from how it looked originally, but it is time for a makeover.
I think when people hear the words “bathroom makeover” they automatically see major demo and dollar signs. But a bathroom doesn’t necessarily need to have everything ripped out and replaced to feel more updated–some simple cosmetic changes can actually make a huge impact. My goal is to makeover this bathroom for under $300 which I think it totally doable!
I’ve created a mood board to use as inspiration for how I want to transform this room.

The first thing that I plan to tackle is the shiplap. I installed it in the boys’ bathroom (you can read about that here) and I just love the amount of character that it adds. It’s also really cheap! I only spent about $33 when I did this bathroom and will spend about that same amount on our bathroom.
I’m also going to paint the vanity white which will be the last of the cabinets that I have to repaint in this house! If you follow along you may remember that I painted the kitchen, hall and both bathroom vanity cabinets espresso before we moved in…
And then decided that I wanted them all to be white just several months later. So I am seriously excited that these will be THE LAST cabinets I have to paint in this house!
The final major project will be the floors. I will be using these gorgeous peel and stick vinyl planks again.

I used them in the boys’ bathroom and am still SOOO amazed at how much they look and feel like real wood yet only cost me $20! You can read about them here.
After those 3 items are checked off it’s time for the real fun which is accessorizing!
So there you have it. I have my work cut out for me for the next 6 weeks but once I reach the finish line I can recover in a nice bubble bath inside my new retreat.
I will be back next week with my first progress update. Oh yeah–I finally hopped on the Instagram train so I will be posting some fun updates on there too! You can find me here.
Thank you for following along as I dive into this crazy adventure once again! Be sure to check out the other One Room Challenge participants here.
Linking up to these awesome parties.

Ah, don't you hate when your style changes just after finishing a big project? At least you (hopefully) won't have to repaint the cabinets again – looking forward to following along (we're doing a bathroom too!).
