Modern Farmhouse Summer Home Tour

July 12, 2017

Hello everyone!  I am super excited to share these pictures with you all today.

I know, I know–I’m a little late in the game for a summer home tour in blog land. I have to be honest with you guys, this summer has been so hectic that I found it really tough to find the time to pick up the camera and get these pictures taken!

When you have little wild ones dwelling in your home it can take quite a bit of energy to hide toys, scrape off dried pasta from the floor and fluff up the pillows that are squished by baby booties on a daily basis!

But finally I was able to pull it together enough to snap these during naptime one day last week.  Come on in!

I like to keep my summer dรฉcor pretty neutral to go along with my farmhouse theme.  I use a lot of white florals, greenery and wood to create a fun summery vibe.

Even though our fireplace mantle is almost non-existent (future DIY project…) I have fun decking it out for the season.

I just adore the this cheerful wooden sailboat!

I found some gorgeous faux florals at Joanns which are wonderful on our entry table since I’m terrible at keeping the real ones alive.

The dining area is pretty simple as usual but there is a new addition hanging from the ceiling that I am quite excited about!

I’ve had my eye on this beauty for months and it finally fell in price so I decided that it must be a sign!  It can be found on Amazon here.

I was worried that it was going to be too big but it’s actually perfect!

The kitchen is looking nice and summery too!

The lemon planter on the island was put together using scrapwood, lemons and white flowers. I saw a similar piece at Target for a whopping $25!

The “mudroom” that we created in the empty corner next to the garage door is our most used spot in the house.  We recently went through an open house in our neighborhood that had our same floor plan and it was so shocking to see that corner not being utilized!

Believe it or not the “Let’s Stay Home” sign was just printed out on plain old computer paper and attached to wood using my new favorite transfer method that I shared here.  Cheapest art ever!

I appreciate you stopping by today!  On Friday I will be back to share details on an upcoming project that we have planned.  It’s going to be the most exciting thing that’s ever happened around here, you guys!  See you then ๐Ÿ™‚
