A Paw Patrol Birthday Party

September 20, 2017

Hello everyone!  This past weekend we celebrated Tristan’s FOURTH birthday!  Holy cow–I have a four year old.  It’s still sinking in.

When I asked Tristan what kind of party he wanted, with no hesitation he said “Paw Patrol!”  It’s been his latest obsession and I can’t complain since the show is pretty stinking cute!

I told myself that I was going to keep it simple this year but I don’t know why I even kid myself because one thing led to another and he ended up with one super cool Paw Patrol party!  So today I am going to take a break from normal home decor talk to share some of the pictures from his party.

(Affiliate links may be provided for convenience.  For more info, see my full disclosure here.)

We hosted it at our neighborhood park again which has a nice sized pavilion with two picnic tables. I picked up some dog bowls and treat jars from the Dollar Tree to hold some fun snack foods on each table and I made these labels for each one.

For the main table we had a hot dog bar accompanied with chips and fruit.

The Dig In banner was a fun touch!

I made this cute little menu for the hot dog bar where each pup had their very own type of hot dog. I’ve made a similar version available as a PDF editable printable on Etsy. If you’re interested you can click here to take you to the listing

The morning of the party I put the hot dogs in the crockpot on low for 4 hours and I brought the whole crockpot to the park so that I could keep them somewhat warm. I just refilled the platter as people ate them.

I filled some condiment bottles with ketchup, mustard and barbeque sauce and then used small white bowls to hold the other toppings.

The cute Paw Patrol topping labels were the perfect touch and I hot glued them to clothespins that attached to these small white bowls.

And of course it wouldn’t be a theme party without giving everything some type of cheesy name.  So the chips were labeled as “paw-tato chips” and the fruit salad was “fruit kibble!” Similar labels can be found here.

I got Tristan a Paw Patroller as a birthday gift and it worked perfectly to hold the plates, napkins and silverware.  It didn’t stay here long of course since he wanted to take it down to play with!

I also got him a Lookout Tower that looked super cute on the other table that I had set up.

On this table we had the “Doggie Bags” which were dog bone shaped graham crackers aka Scooby-Doo Snacks. (The sign can be found here)

I also had a mini candy bar set up with Whoppers as “puppy chow” and Twizzlers as “chew toys”

Maybe one day I will be brave enough to attempt making my own cake, but for now I’m pretty satisfied with the how the overpriced store bough versions turn out!

I put a “water bowl” sign on our mason jar water dispenser.

Sidenote–I am seriously impressed with this drink dispenser. I purchased it for Lucas’ first birthday without high expectations because of it’s low price tag but it’s held up great and turned out to be a great buy!  I purchased it on Amazon here.

It was a little chilly and windy which was a first for his mid-September birthday but I think all together the party was a big success!

And the birthday boy had an absolute blast–for the most part!

We are discovering that with four comes a whole new set of struggles including huge emotional fits and frustrated meltdowns.  But it’s all about the journey and enjoying every minute, am I right?!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone! I will be back on Friday to share a couple of budget fall décor ideas.  See you all then 🙂

Linking up to these awesome parties!
