Hello and happy Wednesday! Today technically feels like a Monday for me since we spent Monday and Tuesday away on a little trip with the kiddos. We all had a ton of fun, but I am 110% exhausted and struggling to get back into routine today!
On Saturday we hosted an engagement brunch for Anthony’s little sister and soon to be brother in law.
They have been engaged since last fall, but with all of the holiday hustle and bustle we kept putting this celebration off. Once the new year finally came around we decided it was time to make it happen. It turned out so beautifully and I wanted to pop in today to share it with you guys!
Let’s start with the food. Holy moly, did we end up with a lot of delicious food!
It’s been years since I’ve made mini quiches so I was worried about how they would turn out, but luckily they were just as delicious as I remembered them. I followed this recipe and used ham, broccoli and cheddar.
The hubby made breakfast potatoes and bacon. Thanks to the timing of this party in February, I was able to find a lot of heart themed items at the Target Dollar Spot. The slotted spoon was one of my favorites!
The heart tea cloths were another find from the Target Dollar spot and I found that one of them worked great in the mini bagel bowel. (similar one on Amazon)
We used these rose gold mini baking cups to make some delicious banana nut muffins.
I made my classic fruit salad and my sister in law made these yummy pinwheels.
I assembled some doughnut hole kabobs using some paper straws that I picked up in the Dollar Spot (similar on Amazon) and placed them on the heart scalloped cake stand that I also found at the Dollar Spot (similar on Amazon).
I also made deviled eggs since they are a big hit with the bride!
There was soooo much food yet I believe we all somehow managed to try a little bit of everything!
I didn’t have time to grab pictures, but my other sister in law arrived with her tasty whipped cream fruit salad (aka dum-dum salad), my mother in law brought her mouth watering green chili and the groom’s family brought some scrumptious Romaian desserts. We had a full spread!
For beverages, I set up a small mimosa station and filled my mason jar drink dispenser with lemon water.
I wish I would have gotten a close up the gold glitter tumblers that I picked up at Target because the were so sparkly and fun! Same with the pink and gold heart napkins.
Alright, let’s chat about the decor. I made a few simple heart banners using scrapbook paper and heart doilies. I also printed out a few pictures of them to make this sweet banner.
My absolute favorite touch was this love script balloon. It was super easy to fill up using a drinking straw and it fit perfectly over our range hood.
I was actually only going to purchase that one, but then I noticed that it also came as part of this rose gold balloon kit for just a dollar more. The extra balloons were nice additions to use in the front room and next to the photo banner.
I especially liked the confetti ones!
I sprinkled some rose gold confetti dots in a few spots and it looked so festive spread out along with the pink roses that I got from the Dollar Tree.
On the dining table I bunched up some rose gold tulle and stretched a small vine that I found at Hobby Lobby on top.
I had the hubby pick up this baby’s breath bouquet and it looked so pretty inside the heart pitcher from the Target Dollar Spot.
Everything turned out even better than I thought it would.
I’m SO excited for these two little love birds!
