Christmas Front Porch Decor

December 9, 2020

Happy Wednesday my friends. I hope you’re all having a nice week so far. So this year I did something that I have never done before–I decorated our front porch for Christmas! I’ve always wanted to, but usually I get so overwhelmed with decorating the inside of our house that my motivation fizzles out by the time we start outside.

A few weeks ago I ordered this set of alpine trees to set out on the porch so that we would at least have a little bit of Christmas cheer out there.

Alpine Tree Set

Once they arrived and I set them out on the porch, I became inspired to do something fun with the space this year. So I started adding things here and there and this is how it came together!

I strung a strand of white lights on the trees and I also wrapped the stands in burlap.

I added a few big rocks inside to make them more stable on the crates.

I then moved the planter that I usually keep here up on the table and filled it with faux greenery, pinecones and a giant jingle bell.

The bell is without a doubt my favorite thing in this whole space. I found it in a Walmart store and unfortunately can’t find a link for it online. I did however find a similar one in white here.

I also added a giant light up snowflake that I found on the same Walmart trip (similar here).

The sign was a Target dollar spot from a few years ago but I did find a lot of cute ones on Amazon if you’re searching for a similar one.

The Santa mailbox (similar) usually sits under our Santa Christmas tree, but I decided to move it out here.

It fits perfectly in front of the trees and adds the perfect pop of color.

The buffalo check rug that I got a few months ago was such a good buy because it has worked for every season.

I decided to carry the buffalo check upward and tied some buffalo check ribbon on some bells (similar) that I hung from the porch light.

Around the front door I have a cheapo Walmart garland with some lights. I may upgrade to something fuller next year, but for now I’m pretty happy with it.

For the wreath, I found these battery operated star lights on Amazon. They are on a timer so they automatically light up at the same time as the rest of our outdoor lights each night.

Speaking of which, here is what it looks like when the sun goes down.

I also put these deer out in the yard. I remember when my Dad found them in a flyer and we took a trip to the store together to buy them. He was always so excited to set them up every year!

I was so happy when my mom said I could have them. I see the bigger one as him and the baby one as myself. I need to replace the lights on the Dad, but they are the perfect tribute to him and warm my heart every time I see them ♥
