Hello friends! Last week I tackled an area that has been a thorn in my side from the very beginning–our nightmare of a medicine cabinet.
As you can see, I attempted to keep some sort of order in here with a few bins on the left side, but I was constantly finding myself going back and needing to sort through it and organize it because it would end up like this, or sometimes worse!
And the right side was, well…
…a dumping ground for anything that we didn’t know where else to put!
Whenever I find it impossible to keep a space tidy, that tells me that we need a better system in place. So, I set out to create a new system. And while I was at it, I as determined to make it look as pretty as possible too!

- Clear Pull Bin
- Cabinet Caddies
- Stackable Craft Drawers
- Waterproof Vinyl Sticker Paper
- Label Set
- Clear Tiered Organizer
First a warning–I failed to grab pics of the process, so these low-quality screenshots from my stories will have to do!
The first thing that needed to happen was for everything to come out. Yes, it was overwhelming to see how much we had crammed up there! I set everything on the counter and then did a nice wipe down of the cabinets.
I then unboxed the Cabinet Caddies that I ordered from Amazon. I did a lot of research on the best way to store our medicine, from turntables to bins, but nothing quite seemed to maximize the space like I wanted. When I finally spotted these, I knew that they would work perfectly.
I went through all of our bottles and took out anything expired and put the rest inside of the caddies.
One those were filled up, I sorted through the pill packets and grouped them.
I knew that some drawers would work great to store these, so we picked up a set of Craft Drawers from the Container Store and I created labels for each drawer.
Here is how it all turned out!
So much better, wouldn’t you agree?!
The caddies not only look pretty, but they are also super functional. I love how easily they slide out and rotate so that we can quickly and easily see and grab what we need by pulling on the little handles.
The caddies also came with little stickers to label them which is also very helpful so that we could group like items together.
No more fumbling around in the middle of the night when one of us or the kiddos is sick and needing something ASAP!
There were a few bottles that were too tall to fit inside of the caddies. Fortunately, I had extra space on the side, so I popped a Clear Pull Bin in for those guys.
Here is the other side!
The fact that the width of the drawer set fit perfectly was so cool. It is not as deep as the cabinet, so I was able to place some things that we had extra of behind it. There are also some extra items hiding behind the divider in the middle. The thing about having a messy medicine cabinet is that I kept buying a lot of duplicates because I thought we were out of something!
Ditching the cardboard boxes that the pill packets come was nice. They usually just fell over each other and were all over the place. I checked each one to make sure that the expiration dates were printed on the packets and not the boxes, and fortunately that was the case. These are all medicines that we take frequently so I know the instructions, but you could also cut those out and stash them inside the drawer.
The drawers also came with nifty removeable dividers so that you could organize things even further inside.
The Labels are the same ones that I used in our pantry cabinets printed out on the same Waterproof Vinyl Sticker Paper.
The nice thing about these drawers is that they are stackable, so if you have a taller space, you could put another one right on top. Since I couldn’t fit another one and I can’t stand wasted space, I decided that it would be a great spot to keep essential oils.
This Clear Tiered Organizer was the perfect solution to keep them organized and easy to see and grab.
I like to keep them alphabetized and I have them staggered so that I can see through to the next row.
I still have one half empty row in case I ever decide to add to the collection!
I am so happy with how this space turned out!
The timing of this project worked out great since both Tristan and I have been battling a few things this past week. Even though it’s been an absolute bummer to be feeling under the weather, it’s been nice not having difficulty finding what we need!
I hope you guys have a safe and happy weekend, see you back here next week!

Oh, wow. This is an area that’s a constant challenge for me. You’ve done a great job of making your medicine cabinet both functional and actually pretty! I love the fact that you’ve actually organized lots of different medications as well as some oils. I think lots of us have a combination of both!
Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I’m featuring you this week!
