This past week has definitely not been as productive as I had wished it was! Last week I mentioned that we had a shipping delay with the new sliding door for the bathroom. I ended up getting a refund for the lost one and the new one arrived over the weekend.
On Monday night Anthony and I assembled it.
I was also wanting one for the closet which sits along the same wall, however I wasn’t sure if we had room for an additional rail. My plan was to wait to get the first one to use as a guide, and I am happy to report that we do! I have ordered another one so we will wait to install them together since a new long header board will be needed.
The other thing that I attempted to tackle this week was building a DIY wooden sun to put above our bed. I went in with a solid plan by securing a half wood circle to a 1×2 frame.
I then started adding the rays as evenly as I could.
The rays ended up measuring out funky and I wasn’t happy with it AT ALL. I didn’t even get a picture—that’s how much I hated it haha!
Later in the day I tore it apart and re-built it, but that one resulted in a bent frame and it looked more like a parallelogram! Again, no picture to document the disaster haha.
Finally, I made a third attempt and this is where it’s at now.
I need to replace a couple of broken rays, but I also don’t know if I love it. I decided to order this beautiful piece to see how that looked above the bed.
And I love it!
And that is about all the progress that was made this week—hopefully I can kick into gear next week since we only have two weeks left before the big reveal!
