Hello and happy July! I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve shared on here so let’s get right back to it with a quick and easy flip that I did last fall.
When I spotted this IKEA dresser listed for free on Marketplace I was so excited since I knew that it was made out real wood which always opens up some great design opportunities.

After cleaning it up, I sanded the top and the top drawer all the way down to the bare wood.
The next day, I scuff sanded the rest of the drawers and the body to prep them for paint. I also decided to use my trim snips to add some molding to the bottom two drawers for character.
I caulked the trim and sanded back the wood filler from the nail holes, then primed it with clear shellac. I went with a light neutral paint color (surprise, surpise!) and applied three coats.
I stained the wood, then sealed everything up with two coats of polyacrylic.
Fun wood floral knobs were the way to go on this piece!
It’s hard to believe that this was from IKEA, now it’s a beautiful custom piece.
