Happy Friday everyone! I’m not sure about you guys but I felt like this week has been extremely long so the fact that Friday is finally here makes me really happy 🙂
Since the day we purchased our home I have always dreamed of having plank flooring throughout our main level.
The living room has cheap beige carpet that is so impossible to keep clean with our little guys. Don’t let this picture fool you–in real life it’s actually pretty horrifying!
The dining area and kitchen currently have sheet linoleum that has a pattern that is supposed to resemble tile. But it’s painfully obvious that it’s not.
One day while browsing Instagram I discovered a picture of some floors that looked exactly like what I had in mind! I found out that they were called Riverbend Oak by Pergo.
I headed over to the Home Depot website to check them out but I wasn’t totally sold based off of the picture. I decided to order a box to see it in person and I am so glad that I did because they are perfect!
They are wide planks which I absolutely love. They also have ScratchGuard which helps keep them protected.
And the finish on them is stunning. Even the knots are textured. It’s really hard to believe that these are laminate and not real wood!
The rustic color and texture is going to go great with our farmhouse theme.
We plan on doing the install ourselves. Are we completely crazy??
I just figure that with install costing a couple of thousand dollars we should at least TRY to do it ourselves. We can always hire out anything that we get stuck on (like the step from the landing) but at least we’ll still be saving some by doing as much as we can.
We’re going out of town for a wedding the first weekend in August so I think we’ll start to tackle this as soon as we get back.
Of course I’ll be sharing all of the details on the install in a post when it’s done and some in progress shots on Instagram which you can follow here.
Have a very happy weekend my sweet friends!
