Hello and happy November! We are currently getting a 4 day dumping of snow here in Colorado and it feels like we dove straight from Halloween into the middle of winter haha. Hopefully after this moves out, we will be blessed with a little more fall weather in time for Thanksgiving.
Today’s makeover is a twin to one that I shared a couple of weeks ago.
I decided to do a completely different look on the second one, and it’s impossible for me to choose which look I ended up liking better. Maybe you can choose!

I followed the same process that I used for the other dresser (you can catch that post here), however instead of adding vertical trim to the bottom two drawers I decided to go with cane webbing.
This was my first time using cane and it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I thought it would be! I first soaked it in the bathtub for about 30 minutes. This makes it easier to work with and also expands it a bit so that it dries nice and taught on the surface.
You can use anything to hold it down, bath toys happened to be most convenient for me haha!
I then started cutting it down to fit on the drawer fronts and used my staple gun to secure it. I learned not to panic if it doesn’t feel completely tight, it will shrink up a bit as it dries!
Next, I cut down some pine trim with my trim shears and used wood glue and clamps to set it.
Once all of the trim was installed, I taped off the cane and painted the trim to match the rest of the dresser.
When I took the drawers out to the garage and slide them into place, the whole thing just didn’t feel right!
So I decided to go back and paint the cane to match the dresser which made it feel much more cohesive!
I added these wooden knobs for a boho inspired look.
And now for the most difficult decision, which dresser turned out better?
For me, it’s too difficult to decide!
I hope you have a happy weekend friends, catch up with you next week!
