Hello friends. I want to start by saying thank you so much for the condolences that I’ve received via comments, email and Instagram. Your kind words have warmed my heart and I can’t even begin to express how much they mean to me.
Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday, but this Christmas is going to be very different for me. In fact, a few days ago I wondered if I would be able to muster up any spirit to do Christmas at all this year. But I realized that decorating for Christmas and enjoying our family traditions together brings me so much joy and I need a whole lot of that to make it through life right now.
So this past weekend I opened up my new tree and ornaments that I had purchased for our bedroom awhile back and set it up to share for this years tree hop. I found the process very enjoyable and I love admiring it from my bed as I fall asleep each night. I know that my Dad would have loved to see pictures of my new tree and would have probably poked a little fun at me for having tree set up in our bedroom haha. But he would have ended it with “do whatever makes you happy” ♥
This is my 4th year participating in this event hosted by the amazingly talented Michelle from Our Crafty Mom. You can catch my previous trees here:

I really wanted to create a soft cozy vibe so I stuck to warm elements and colors.
I began with wide strips of lace burlap ribbon and then decided to add some soft cream velvet ribbon as well.
I strung a couple strings of wood bead garlands on top. I couldn’t find any packages without colored beads, so I actually removed them, spray painted them with Chiffon Cream spray paint and restrung them. It was a little bit of work, but very worth it.
Next it was time for the ornaments. I searched high and low for large wooden snowflakes and finally found this set on Amazon. They come 20 to a pack so they filled out my tree perfectly. I also love the variation of the four different patterns.
I found the snowy pinecone ornaments at Hobby Lobby but it looks like they are already out of stock. There are many similar ones on Amazon like this set.
I found the linen ribbon ornaments at Hobby Lobby and then made the cable knit sweater ones myself by using some clear ball ornaments, an old sweater and some hot glue.
I finished it off by adding in taupe, pewter and white glass ball ornaments from Hobby Lobby.
I used a woven tree collar for the base, however next year I may just use a cozy cable knit blanket instead.
The wooden star topper was the perfect final touch.
It came together even more beautifully than I had imagined it would and I love the magical and cozy feeling that it gives this little corner.
My dream of having a tree in our bedroom has finally come true.
I’m so glad that you could stop by and join me today 🙂
And now for the rest our the tour, enjoy!

Your bedroom tree is gorgeous, Angela! I love the DIY cable knit ornaments and all of the neutral elements. Hopefully it will help to cheer you up.

What a gorgeous tree! I love the color palette that you used for it and how you used two different ribbons along with bead garland. (And you were very patient to take colored garland apart, spray paint it, and restring those beads.) I hope you enjoy this tree very much over this Christmas season. I’m very sorry that you lost your dad.

Such a pretty cozy neutral theme for your tree, it reminds me of my favorite sweater. It is the perfect tree for a cuddly holiday celebration. Pinning this perfection for later!

How perfectly zen is this lovely flocked tree. It would be easy to see this in a beach house, too!

I have never thought to place a Christmas tree in my bedroom but why the heck not?! Whatever makes you happy, indeed. I can picture my dad shaking his head and then smiling at the thought. It’s beautiful in your space, must be so cozy all lit up at night.

Angela, This is a perfect bedroom tree. My husband bans all Christmas decor from the bedroom, but if I had a tree in my bedroom, I would love it to look just like this! The burlap with the lace adds to the soft look of your tree, wonderful!!

Angela, first off I have to tell you once again how sorry I am about your Dad. I lost my mom when I was a little younger than you, so I can only imagine how tough it was for you to pull through and put up a tree. I’m glad the process was comforting for you and hopefully you will be able to enjoy Christmas with your family. Your boys are just adorable and they must love seeing your magical Christmas tree. Blessings to you and your family!

I love love love how deliciously neutral your tree is, it’s the perfect mix of rustic and neutral! I hope it helped get you in the Christmas spirit just a bit, after the *ahem* fun year we’ve had we all need a little joy.

Your tree is gorgeous, Angela. It’s wonderful that it brought you some enjoyment during this difficult time for you. I’m so sorry for your loss and hope that you’ll find comfort during the holidays.

Angela, I just love your cozy tree! It’s soothing neutral color palette is just perfect for the bedroom. Your diy sweater ornaments are fabulous! I love the wooden snowflakes and star topper, too. I’m so sorry for your loss. My mom passed just before Christmas 10 years ago. The holidays can be difficult, but I try to find comfort in happy memories and family traditions.

Losing a loved one is never easy. It’s great that you put up a tree in your bedroom and you can hear your dad poking fun at you. Your tree is gorgeous!

I love your tree. The warm colors work so perfectly together. I think my favorite ornaments are the sweater ones you made yourself. They are super cute and I may have to make some too! I think your dad would love that this tree makes you happy. I lost my dad two years ago at the beginning of November. It is a hard time but my mom, my brother and I lean on each other! Merry Christmas!
