One Room Challenge (Week 6): Adding in the Details

November 1, 2022

Hello there and happy November! We are quickly starting to approach the finish line of this challenge, and although the reveal date of November 16th sounded so far away when I first began, it is sounding pretty close now!

In case you missed any previous posts in this season of the One Room Challenge you can catch up here:

  • One Room Challenge (Week 1): Superhero Room Plans
  • One Room Challenge (Week 2): Starting the Faux Brick Wall
  • One Room Challenge (Week 3): Paint, Trim and a New Bed
  • One Room Challenge (Week 4) : Small Updates
  • One Room Challenge (Week 5): Work Paused for a Week in Disney

Since I didn’t get any work done the week that we spent in Disney, I really tried my hardest to power through and be as productive as possible over the past week. It was a bit of a struggle at times since I was dragging pretty hard from the post vacation blues, but I feel really good about what we accomplished!

First up was getting the pipe shelving hung up. Anthony was off work that day so he did most of the work while I assisted haha.

I ordered this set from Amazon and instead of using the wall anchors, we just used the studs.

I also finished up his little reading nook area with some wooden bookshelves, a star marquee light and some fun LED lights.

I found this jumbo chalkboard at Michaels for only $16 (after coupon) and it fits perfectly above the desk.

The lamp that I ordered also came in and it’s everything that I’ve dreamed of. He asked for a gold lamp, and I love the old-world vibe of this one so much!

I hung up the posters yesterday and I love how much the black frames pop against the green wall. I used these frames which I thought was a great price for a package of six.

I plan to hang up this cool LED bat light above the frames which will really illuminate this room at night.

I still have quite a bit of decor to add, and of course the dresser makeover! Stay tuned for one more update next week before the big reveal 🙂
