- One Room Challenge (Week 4): A Lot of Progress for The Halfway Point
- One Room Challenge (Week 5): Fun Details
This past week I knocked out the last two DIYS that I had planned for this room. The first one was the rolling storage boxes that I made for storage under the bed.
I plan to share a full tutorial on them very soon and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they turned out.
The other DIY was the craftsman style window trim.
I’ve been adding this trim to our windows throughout the house one room at a time. I love the character that it adds and it also makes the windows feel bigger and more high end.
With both of those things being done, I’m now down to adding in the final details. Last week I mentioned that the storage bench that I ordered felt too small for the space.
I ordered a larger one, but when it arrived I didn’t care for the light gray color. So I then ordered not one–but 2 darker gray options. Yes I ended up with 4 total haha! Thank goodness for easy Amazon returns. Out of those I finally decided on this one.
Perfect! It even came with two dividers so that it can be sectioned off inside.
My mother in law gifted us this Game Room marquee sign and I’m still trying to figure out the best place to hang it. I am leaning towards setting it up on the pipe shelving that will be added to this wall, however I also think that it may look nice hung in the corner where the accent wall meets the brick wall. Hmm decisions, decisions!
I got the bedding all washed and set up on the beds which was an exciting step and I noticed that it really started to pull the room together. Here is a quick sneak peek, pardon the less the exceptional lighting!
I also found the cutest fan at Walmart. The retro vintage vibe and the teal color is perfect for this room.
This next week I plan to recruit the hubby to help me hang the wall scones and the pipe shelving. See you all back here next week!
