I’ve been putting off the more difficult things for the end and we finally tackled them this past week. First up were the wall lights!
I chose these black wall sconces because they are very low profile–don’t need the kiddos bumping their heads on them in the middle of the night! They are plug-ins but I didn’t want to see cords, so we actually drilled some holes behind each one and fed the cord down to a hole that we made next to the outlet.
Since this is an exterior wall there was a ton of insulation to work around and it wasn’t as easy as we had anticipated it would be, but the end result is so worth it! I did the same thing with the controller light above the dresser, although there was no insulation so it was much simpler!
I ended up painting a black outline around it to make it stand out more and I love how it turned out.
The last thing that we’ve been putting off is the pipe wall shelving. I originally ordered a 4 tier set, but I decided to return it and got this 3 tier set instead.
It fits the space so much better. I just need to get a 2×12 and cut it down for the shelves and then figure out what to put on them. Styling shelves is always a struggle for me but I think I have a few ideas.
I organized the little shelves above the desk with pails and I think they turned out pretty cute.
I also ordered this wall basket to hold coloring and activity books and it fills the wall next to his desk perfectly.
And finally I found these super soft video controller blankets at Walmart for only $10. I was super excited about this find and they actually even glow in the dark!
I can’t wait to finish everything up and share the big reveal with you guys next week!
